The weather in Berlin has been absolutely perfect this weekend. So yesterday, Brandon had a grill party at his place.
He invited a few Fulbrighters over, and we had a great time stuffing our faces with chicken, wursts, and beer. Gotta love quality German food.
I was extremely stuffed, to say the least.
There's a grill at my place too and a terrace about four times the size of Brandon's balcony, so I'm looking forward to hosting a few grill parties of my own. In fact, my roommate learned how to make satay during his trip to Singapore, so we're going to have an Asian-themed grill party upon his return.
Today is the first game for the Berlin Black Sheep softball team that Brandon and I joined. However, as my knee still does not feel 100% after my torn meniscus injury in late September, I decided to call it quits after a few weeks of practice. It isn't very fun to play when you can't move as freely as you'd like.
Speaking of sports, how about them Mariners, eh? Or should I say first-place Seattle Mariners? 2-0 to start the season, but let's not get our hopes up. This is a year of low to no expectations, so I suppose I should just enjoy it while I can. I do miss baseball tremendously.
This week also kicks off my official Fulbright research interviews now that I have permission from the Berlin Senate to do what I need to do. I'll be visiting at least three different schools this week with the remaining of my twelve partner schools still to be visited in the coming months. I am not looking forward to transcribing, but the interviews themselves will be fun.
Ciao,
Sam
