I just got home from celebrating a last night with friends from the U.S. in Marburg. Some of the closest friends I met in Marburg were studying abroad from the U.S., and we stayed friends as I've come back to Marburg every month for medical appointments.
Hard to believe it was only a few months ago that we had our farewell dinner there for our Fulbright language course. It was a fun group of people, Germans, Americans, and Spaniards even.
I will especially miss seeing my friend, Carissa, in Marburg, as I have gotten to know her much better since we were once neighbors in the Christian-Wolff-Haus apartments. After traveling to Mannheim and Istanbul together as well as hanging out in Marburg and Berlin, it'll be sad to return to Marburg and know she's no longer there. But we have made plans to hang out again in the U.S. at some point. Let's make sure to do it, Carissa! :)

Since most of them are leaving before my next trip to Marburg in June, I decided to organize a small dinner party with friends in Marburg tonight. My friend, Ginger (a fellow Fulbrighter), even made the trip up from Gießen to join us.
After a four-hour train ride to Marburg today, I spent my afternoon hanging out at my friend Elena's house. She was so kind as to let me stay overnight. Then we headed out to the Marktplatz to meet the others for dinner.

Tomorrow, I have my pump refill at 11 AM, and then I will grab lunch with Carissa's roommate, Sarina, who is another good friend from Marburg. It will be fun, and I look forward to it. We always end up speaking German with each other, which I really appreciate (just as I do with Elena), so it should be a fun afternoon. Then train ride back to Berlin around 4:30 PM. Assuming no delays with the train, I should be home by about 9 PM.
Then it'll be back to work!
Ciao,
Sam
